The Hacienda at Scribe

I spent this past Saturday in Sonoma with some girlfriends visiting (read: drinking merrily at) Scribe's newly (re)opened Hacienda. The revamp was executed so tastefully with minimal, modern updates that don't detract from the integrity of the original structure. The charm and history of the place still shines through, but the updates make the space interesting and functional (and working toilets always do wonders for a building).

The kitchen clearly had the most noticeable facelift of the space and it felt perfectly on-brand with Scribe's whole California-cool aesthetic. The living areas were largely untouched aside from subtle structural updates, new furnishings and modernized fireplaces.

The entire place feels dangerously homey, so much so that I've since toyed with the idea of becoming a squatter. But until I act on that plan, I'll settle for the comfort of knowing that this little slice of heaven will always be a short drive away.

Weekend Highlights

I'm going to approach this Monday as if it were actually Tuesday because I have a four day workweek #fistbump. Ugh, just by saying that I feel so much better!

I ventured across the Bay Bridge this weekend to one of my favorite little neighborhoods in West Berkeley. I'm obsessed with all the design shops on 4th Street and I always make a point to swing by Ohmega Salvage for some treasure hunting.

I also paid a visit to Social Studiesan adorable little boutique that sells clothing and housewares on San Pablo. The shop is impeccably curated and beautifully designed (not to mention, the staff and shop owner, Lauren, could not be nicer). They only have women's clothing for now, but they're opening a men's shop next door in the next couple months.

It's going to be my new go-to for unique gifts and Hasami porcelain (because everyone needs their go-to source for Hasami, amiright?).

Anyways, happy Tuesday!

Weekend Vibes

This week was non-stop hustle and even my poor Netflix account is feeling neglected. I've been doing some editorial work for the lovely ladies over at Apartment 34, so between there, here, design projects and the day job I'm feeling mentally pooped but so creatively fulfilled. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to a smidge of chillax time this weekend.

Here's hoping the weekend has a little R & R in store for you as well!

PS- I'm planning to post some photos from my trip to the UK next week, but here's a sneak peak in the meantime. The rest of the pictures are primarily of scones so set your expectations accordingly.

Weekend Bits: Palm Springs Edition

Some friends and I journeyed to Palm Springs this past weekend to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend Chris. We stayed at The Ace where we spent the days lounging by the pool, subsisting off of spicy margaritas and avocado toast. At night, we sat around our patio fireplace discussing anything from the life choices of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to plane crash conspiracy theories. It was the perfect pre-Spring break-break. Hope you had a relaxing weekend as well!

Happy Monday

After a long week of work travel, it was nice to spend some QT catching up with my own bed and good friends. On Saturday we ventured to Alcatraz to visit Ai Weiwei's @Large exhibit where we saw his work and also did the Alcatraz audio tour (which is SO fascinating, btw).

My favorite part of the exhibit was the incredibly vibrant kites hung about the New Industries building—the site where inmates would work doing laundry and manufacturing. The entire thing was so beautiful and erie.

Hope you had a relaxing weekend as well and I wish you a painless Monday and speedy work week!
